V. Vein is an independent record label, radio broadcast, zine dispatch, art house, and fiction publisher  dedicated to raw, uncompromising culture from the edge — punk / doom / free jazz / dub / psych / noise, as well as art drops, fast fiction, and graphic novels.

Founded as Substatik Recordings by ZZ Benway, V. Vein was hand built from tape hiss and poverty, and is rooted in a DIY ethos. We’ve expanded since then, with offices opening in Melbourne and Mexico, and a recording studio in Düsseldorf. 

We kicked off in 2016 with a scorched earth debut by German metallists Schlüsselchrist, and the floodgates haven’t shut since.

V. Vein is now home to a roster including:

with dozens of other projects on the go.

  ink, distributes worldwide, and is laying the

  pipes to publish novellas and graphic novels.

  that platforms V. Vein artists, and stacks of killer tunes

  from around the world.
